Obedience Training
obedience programs are designed to provide you with the skills to establish yourself as the "leader" in your dog's eyes. Our programs provide structure and boundaries for your dog, while offering participants the opportunity to learn patience, praise, repetition, correction and proper communication with your dog. Your beloved pet will understand "right" from "wrong" and will learn what is expected of him/her to become a more integrated member of your family. Through love, praise and reinforcement your pet will become a more calm, secure and confident member of your family and your home will be a most welcoming place for everyone.
Why train your dog?
Training your dog is probably one of the single most important things you can do for your dog. It will ensure their safety, increase their confidence (if they are somewhat insecure), and make them happier, better companions. Training is for people who love their dogs and want what is best for them.
What is the difference between training and other training methods?
Good training is more than just learning how to tell your dog to "sit" or "come", it is a way of life for the dog. At , we practice a philosophical approach to teaching. Here, you'll not only learn proven methods of instruction and reinforcement, you'll also learn the reasons why you are doing what you are doing.
Why does my dog need training?
Dogs need structure. Without boundaries, dogs can become aggressive, stressed, confused and insecure. Without proper training these symptoms can lead to inappropriate behaviors such as chewing, excessive barking, stealing food, or marking, etc. If a dog is misbehaving it is because the dog does not understand which behaviors are and are not acceptable. can offer your dog the boundaries he/she needs to be the best pet they can possibly be.
Is it a lot of work?
Proper dog training is a rewarding experience for you and your dog and, often times, brings the entire family closer together. After training, there is a new understanding between everyone. Your dog will exhibit proper behavior because he/she wants to please you (and not because it is receiving a food reward). training changes the relationship between your dog and your family in a positive way that is respectful for everyone.
 Training Programs
Private lessons are designed for owners who have the necessary patience and time to work closely with their dogs. This approach is for dogs whose personality types work better when they remain in their home environment or learn best with their owner. In each lesson you and your dog will learn a new command/behavior once a week. Owner and the dog will then practice at home between sessions. A commitment by the owner practicing at home each day is necessary for this approach to be most effective. The number of lessons required may vary and can be determined by owner's goals, the dog, and the time and energy invested.

It also includes 4 follow-up classes with the dog and family to review techniques, ask questions and practice your new skills.
We ask that owners bring enough food for the duration of the dog's stay so that we do not have to change the dog's diet, reducing the chances of stomach problems. Proof of vaccines required (rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella/Kennel cough must be given 14 days prior to stay).
